How does Ketamine help treat Lyme Disease or Post-treatment Lyme disease syndrome (PTLDS)?
Ketamine is a promising Lyme Disease treatment adjunct. Ketamine may help decrease symptoms of Chronic Pain, Depression and Anxiety associated with the illness. Ketamine is an NMDA Receptor Antagonist which blocks the transmission of pain signals. Ketamine also plays an important role in Depression and Anxiety by working to increase the production of Glutamate, a neurotransmitter that regulates almost all the cells in the brain.
